What Is Shadow Work
The shadow, why it forms, and what to expect.
The shadow is everything you've pushed out of conscious view - emotions, impulses, traits, and memories that felt too dangerous, too shameful, or simply too much to hold. You didn't choose to suppress them. You learned to.
Shadow work is the process of turning back toward those parts. Not to relive them, but to stop being run by them. When a reaction feels bigger than the moment warrants, when a relationship keeps hitting the same wall, when anxiety or low mood arrives without an obvious cause - that's usually shadow material surfacing. This course gives it somewhere to land.
Over three months, you'll move through four themes in sequence: Emotions, Beliefs and Values, Behaviors and Patterns, and Integration. Each month builds on the last. The daily reflection prompts are cumulative - what you write in Week One becomes the ground for what you excavate in Week Eight. You don't need to do it perfectly. You need to show up.
Some prompts will feel straightforward. Others will catch you off guard. Keep tissues nearby - that's not a joke. Getting to know ourselves is hard. You are pretty amazing for being willing to try.
